Frequently Asked Questions
Custom Cards
How do I pay for my custom order?
Once your custom order is completed and the details have been confirmed, we’ll send you an invoice for payment.
How much does it cost to make a custom card?
Custom cards start at $75 per card.
Additional charges may apply for oversized cards, specialty finishes, added features, or other special requests. We’re not interested in nickel-and-diming our customers over every small detail. We’ve worked hard to develop a tight, efficient workflow that allows us to create unique, high-quality cards while keeping our prices reasonable.
How do I place a custom order?
Browse our Available Designs, download and complete the Custom Order Form, and email it to us along with high-resolution scans of your signature(s). Once your order is confirmed, ship the required materials to the address provided on the order form.
Can I use my own photo?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to provide your own photo. Images must be high resolution and fit the overall theme and proportions of your chosen card design. All submitted images are subject to approval to ensure they will reproduce well on the finished card.
Do you offer foiling or embossing?
Yes! We offer a variety of specialty finishing options, including foiling and embossing. Available options and pricing will depend on the card design and the type of finish requested.
What is the turnaround time for a custom order?
Our current standard turnaround time is approximately 4–6 weeks, depending on our workload.
For fully custom designs created from scratch, specialty projects, and bulk orders, turnaround times may vary. If there is any significant delay with your order, we’ll communicate with you as soon as possible.
What materials and tools do you use, and how are the cards assembled?
We use high-quality, acid-free cardstock and dry adhesive. We do not use moisture-based adhesives.
Each card is cut by hand using custom blades that we design, then printed and assembled in-house. While some of our specific tools, techniques, and materials are trade secrets, we’re always happy to share general guidance with artists who are interested in learning more about the craft.
How thick are your cards?
Our standard card thickness is 100pt. Any card with a different thickness will be clearly identified in the product description or custom-order details.
Do you have a minimum custom order?
No. Whether you need one card or 100, we’re happy to fulfill your order.
We’ve developed an efficient workflow that allows us to handle both small and large orders without requiring customers to meet an arbitrary minimum.
Business & General Questions
Do you offer bulk discounts?
Yes! Bulk orders start at $500 for a minimum of 10 cards. Additional cards are available at $50 each.
For particularly large or specialized orders, please contact us to discuss your project.
Why don’t you offer third-party authentication on the cards you sell?
We understand that third-party authentication is an important consideration for many collectors.
Personally, I prefer having some of my own cards professionally slabbed, but I’m not a fan of the long turnaround times, international shipping, or the extended period when a card is essentially in “limbo” during the authentication process. While authentication stickers are another option, I don’t particularly like placing stickers directly on our cards.
That said, I do see value in the “quick opinion” services offered by some authentication companies.
We stand behind every Signature Cut Card we sell. Each card includes our own signed Certificate of Authenticity/Guarantee, and we encourage collectors to ask questions, do their research, and seek additional opinions whenever they feel it is appropriate.
For collectors interested in third-party authentication, my preferred companies are Beckett Authentication, PSA, and JSA. I also have professionally slabbed cards in my own collection, and I think they look fantastic.
What is your shipping process?
Our first question when packing an order is simple: How would we want to receive this package?
Every card is shipped in a new top loader and team bag for added protection and security.
And NO SCOTCH TAPE!
We take great pride in how we package and ship our cards. Your order should arrive looking as good as it did when it left our hands.
