The series opened on April 8, 1947, and concluded on \u003cstrong\u003eApril 19, 1947\u003c\/strong\u003e, when the Maple Leafs defeated the Canadiens 2Ð1 in Game 6 at Maple Leaf Gardens to capture the Stanley Cup in six games. Bill Durnan was in goal for Montreal, while Turk Broda backstopped Toronto. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDurnan won two Stanley Cups and six Vezina Trophies with Montreal. Broda won five Stanley Cups with Toronto.
